The newly developed wrist model devices measure blood pressure with an "oscillometric method", too, and are fully automatic: they inflate the pressure cuff automatically and release the pressure in a dosed manner. Some wrist model devices contain an internal upper-pressure-limit (blood pressure wristwatches). Under proper usage, wrist model devices take mostly precise measurements. In contrast, fully automatic finger model measurement devices often get wrong data. For example when the finger is not held up at heart level in a stable motion, or when the fingers are too cold, so that the measurement device displays too low blood pressure.
Is a wrist model measurement device advisable?
