Why should I always hold the cuff at the level of my heart?

When you don't hold the cuff at the level of your heart, there will be errors in the measurement process. For example a difference of 10 cm will cause an error of 7,3 mmHg, that means the displayed blood pressure measurement value will differ from your actual blood pressure.

This is especially important for measurement devices for the wrist, because they have to be held at the level of the heart.
